This was also one of the only Character Wednesday illustrations where I was allowed to pick the character. So of course I did something willfully perverse and picked a ridiculous and obscure character that I love. Behold, (again) from the mind of Jack "King" Kirby, a "gigantic robot designed to resemble a Native American deity," Tomazooma, the Death That Walks!

Interestingly enough, if you do a Google image search using the term "Tomazooma" my illustration is the fifth result, right there at the top. That, to me, is very very cool. Keep the fire burning!
Anyway, here is what Tomazooma looked like when he first appeared. This one is way cooler than mine...
And since none of those brilliant minds at Marvel Comics can ever leave well enough alone, here is the All New, All Gritty, All Bad-ass, All Realistic, Completely Updated Nasty Mean and New 21st Century Tomazooma! Look how awesome he is! He has a giant gun! ON HIS HAND!!! (God I hate modern comics)

That is not a gun. It is a jet-plane that he is trying to swat from the sky. You owe modern comics an apology.
You're right, it is a gun. Maybe if the artist was less concerned with idiotic spectacle, that would have read better. Oh, and modern comics? I'm so sorry you suck. It must be awful for you.
